Call center or customer service: which one you need
These two get used interchangeably and they are not the same purchase. Getting the distinction right saves a lot of wasted evaluation.
A call center engagement is voice-first and volume-shaped. You have queues, handle times, service levels measured in seconds, and telephony infrastructure that has to be configured, monitored, and reported on. Capacity planning is the core discipline.
A customer service engagement is relationship-shaped and channel-agnostic. Volume matters less than resolution quality, and the work spans chat, email, social, and messaging as much as voice.
If your primary question is "can you answer 4,000 calls a month within 40 seconds", you want a call center. If it is "can you own our customer experience across every channel", our customer service outsourcing page is the better starting point.
