What nearshore customer service is
A nearshore team sits in a neighboring country and works your business day. For US companies, the two strongest locations are Mexico and Colombia, and the time zones are the reason.
Mexico’s time-zone law, published in October 2022, ended daylight saving time for most of the country. Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey now stay on UTC-6 all year. That matches US Central in winter and Mountain in summer, so a Mexico City shift is never more than two hours from any mainland US time zone.
Colombia stays on UTC-5 all year, with no daylight saving. It matches US Eastern in winter and Central in summer. Either way, a shift in Mexico or Colombia shares most of your day from the East Coast to the West.
Pick the model per queue before you pick a vendor. A queue placed in the wrong model fights its time zone and language mix every day.
